Craving Rescue Card Without Restriction
A short craving rescue card that helps you pause, name the need, and choose a supportive next step.
The 5-minute card
- Pause for one minute and breathe normally.
- Ask: am I hungry, tired, stressed, lonely, bored, underfed, or overwhelmed?
- If hungry, eat something satisfying without punishment.
- If not hungry, choose one need-matching action: text someone, step outside, shower, stretch, journal, or make tea.
- After five minutes, choose kindly. The goal is awareness, not forced control.
When this card is not enough
If cravings often become episodes that feel out of control, happen in secret, or create intense distress, a self-help card is too small. Support from a qualified professional can help.
If you have an eating-disorder history, avoid rigid food rules and use clinician-supported tools.
